Intimate Wedding at Cindy’s Rooftop
I really enjoy photographing smaller, non-traditional, intimate weddings. And Steve and Katie’s wedding at Cindy’s Rooftop in downtown Chicago did not disappoint.
First, I arrived at the Chicago Athletic Association in downtown Chicago to photograph Katie and the ladies getting ready.

Then after Steve arrived, we took a stroll down Michigan Avenue for some gorgeous, casual portraits on the street.

Once we made it back to the restaurant, they exchanged vows on the Cindy’s Rooftop open air terrace with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline.

Later that evening, Katie and Steve had another rooftop party at their Bucktown condo rooftop for friends and family.

The colorful Antigua Market is unlike any place I have ever been. Imagine stall after stall after stall of vendors selling clothes, artisan goods, shoes, music, movies, toothbrushes, fruits, vegetables, meat, and literally everything else you can think of. Once you duck into the “interior” area of the market, you enter into what feels like a rabbit warren of vendor stalls. Thank goodness William was with us or I certainly would have been lost wandering around aimlessly for hours looking for an exit.

I couldn’t believe how well so many of the photos turned out! Granted, I am still trying to compose and look for moments while I am walking. I am just not looking through my camera while I am shooting. So, it’s a bit of intentional shooting, and a bit of luck.
Heading to our “Home” in Antigua
